On this occasion, M77 will present a curated selection of works by artists from its roster: Carla Badiali, Gianni Bertini, Alberto Biasi, Giosetta Fioroni, Agostino Iacurci, Emilio Isgrò, William Klein, Antonio Marras, Nino Migliori, Maria Lai, Marco Petrus, Ming Smith, Tino Stefanoni and Grazia Varisco. In dialogue with the theme of the upcoming edition, New Directions, inspired by John Coltrane, the booth titled Jazz Requiem will include a special focus on African American artist Ming Smith. Since the 1970s, Smith has documented Black American culture through her lens with a deeply personal and innovative approach. In her work, jazz takes on both cultural and political significance: a language capable of surprising, evolving, and reinventing itself—much like the African American community in response to the social and cultural tensions of the last century. On this occasion, M77 will make its debut in Spotlight, curated by Valerie Cassel Oliver presenting "A timely grammar of space", a curatorial project on artist Grazia Varisco, a visionary woman and undisputed pioneer of Op and Programmed Art and one of the founders of Gruppo T, which investigated time as a tangible artistic variant. M77 for artgenève presented a selection of works by Kendell Geers, Emilio Isgrò, Avish Khebrehzadeh, Giosetta Fioroni, Nino Migliori and Charlotte Perriand.

M77, for Paris Photo 2023, presented the work of the legendary photographer and multifaceted artist Nino Migliori (Bologna, 1926) by bringing to light the interesting thematic variety in his production. Through a carefully curated selection of his vintage photographs, the gallery shows three of his most iconic series: his Neorealist phase in a range of different subjects and periods, the Ossidazioni which he realized in the 1950s, and the radical experimentations on the subject of walls with his series called Muri, carried out from the 1950s to the 1970s.

M77 is proud to announce its participation in the next edition of Frieze Masters which will take place in London from 11 to 15 October 2023. On this occasion, M77 will make its debut in Modern Women, a section curated by Camille Morineau and her team at AWARE (Archive of Women Artists, Research and Exhibitions), presenting “Stretching out the Infinite”, a curatorial project that retraces Maria Lai’s touching and profoundly revolutionary approach to art through some extraordinary never-before-seen pieces belonging to the Sardinian artist's production from the 1960s until 1979.

M77 is proud to be participating to Art Basel 2023. On this occasion M77 is presenting an attentively curated project focused on the oeuvre of Sardinian artist Maria Lai (Ulassai, 1919 - Cardedu, 2013) with a focus on her production from the 1960s which marked her departure from the informal towards conceptualism.
